I’m from Buffalo, NY. We do not flour our wings. Frank’s yes. Flour no. No one would eat that here.
Good point Nick! Thanks for sharing the way you cook your wings in Buffalo! We can suggest Frank’s instead of flour.
Hooters Wings uses flour I read, they come out crispier and soak in more buffalo sauce. My personal choice.
Why do you have the temp. in Celsius?
I tried these in accordance with the recipe and they were not edible. Rubbery and took much longer to cook than instructed. Never again!
No flour!! Cook bare wings and when crispy, shake the wings in Franks hot sauce…pure Franks for hot and add butter for medium, more butter for mild. Do not soak the wings in sauce!! Use a container with a lid to shake the wings and pull them out as they are coated in sauce. Over saucing the wings is a Buffalo no no!!
You right
For the honey BBQ recipe, what are the proportions?
Does the flour HAVE to be self-raising, in the first recipe here?
I made the recipe for the honey BBQ wings and followed the recipe to a T. Preheated fryer to 180, coated them with flour, salt & pepper and cooked for 8 minutes. Shook the pan, but they were still covered in flour. Turned the over to 200 and cooked for an additional 5 minutes and then turned the oven to 180 and baked for another 8 minutes. We planned to just dip our wings in the sauce. Anyway at the end of this, the wings were still totally uncooked and covered in flour. What did I do wrong?
Probably cooking them at 200 F….Which isn’t near hot enough… 200 degrees C is about 350 f
You need to covert the temperatures to Fahrenheit.
The 180 is celsius so if using fahrenheit the temp should be 400!

This recipe is gonna get someone sick. 180 is NOT hot enough to cook chicken.
Ok Ok I know Americans don’t want to do anything more than necessary BUT come on now. If you see a C you need to convert to F for Fahrenheit. You probably won’t need to do anything more than Ask Siri or any other contraption you have OR ask your phone OR since you are already on your computer you can find it easily. Good luck.
